Your contribution will help build a valuable resource that illuminates how clothing and accessories express, challenge, and shape religious identity across cultures and time periods. The following guidelines will help ensure your submission stands out while maintaining the scholarly integrity and accessibility that defines our collection.
Core Requirements
Format & Length:
- 1,200-1,800 words total
- Chicago Manual of Style (Author-Date) citations
- High-resolution image(s) of your chosen item
Essential Elements:
- Visual Documentation: Provide clear images showing the complete item and important details
- Object Information: Include creation date, designer/creator, geographic origin, and cultural context
- Cultural Diamond Analysis: Analyze at least three of these four dimensions (in any order):
- Object: Design, construction, symbolism, materials
- Creator: Motivations, inspirations, identity, creative process
- Wearer: How communities interpret, use, and experience the item
- Context: Historical, social, economic factors shaping significance
Submission Process:
- Format your entry as a Word document (.docx) or Google Doc
- Include high-resolution images as separate files
- Email all materials to Lynn Neal.
