Photographs bring campus memories to life. As part of Faith & Fashion in the Forest, we are collecting images that illustrate how Wake Forest students, faculty, and staff dressed across the decades. These photos will complement oral history stories and help us better understand the lived experience of dress codes and campus culture.

  • Photos showing dress code enforcement or violations
  • Everyday student life (classrooms, residence halls, campus hangouts)
  • Special events (church services, dances, athletic events, graduations)
  • Photographs that capture clothing trends, required dress, or fashion moments that stood out
  • Individual portraits or group photos
  • Please submit photos that you own or have permission to share
  • Both scanned/digital copies and original digital photos are welcome
  • We accept common formats (JPEG, PNG, PDF) and can work with phone photos of physical pictures
  • Along with your photo, please include as much context as you can (approximate year, location, names of people pictured if known, and any related story)

Submitted photographs may be included in research, teaching, or public presentations connected to the Faith & Fashion in the Forest project. Because this is an oral history project, photos may be attributed to you by name unless you request otherwise.

Send your photo(s) to Professor Lynn S. Neal.

Thank you for helping us preserve the history of Wake Forest’s dress culture. Your images, alongside stories, will build a visual archive for future generations.
